Al Fatih Academy Parent/Teacher Alliance (PTA)

Assalaamu alaikum, AFA Families!

The next PTA meeting will be held on Saturday, December 16th in the downstairs Meeting Room of Herndon Fortnightly Library from 10am to 12pm.  Mark your calendar now and please make every effort to attend, bring your suggestions, and assist in whatever ways you can.

The PTA still has 4 positions open for dedicated parents like you.

• PTA Secretary - Attend and take minutes at all PTA meetings, prepare and circulate minutes to parents, etc.

• Education Committee Chairperson - Initiate, coordinate and organize education related projects such as clubs/after-school activities, resource center maintenance, room parents, etc.

• Fund-raising Committee Chairperson - Initiate, coordinate and organize school fund-raising projects such as tables at Eid and ADAMS festivals, education programs (e.g. Safeway, Giant, Kohl’s), collection jars at local Muslim stores, corporate gift matching programs, yearbook, picture day, Eid card/calendar contest etc.

• Social Activities Chairperson - Initiate, coordinate and organize school social activities such as weekly pizza days, Ramadan and Eid-al-Adha pot-lucks, teachers’ appreciation events, Teachers’ Friday Lunch program, school BBQ etc.
