Uniform Policy 2008-2009
In order to maintain a focused academic atmosphere, students attending Kindergarten and above grades are required to wear a uniform. Uniforms may be purchased online at French Toast or at local retailers like, Target, Walmart, Burlington Coat Factory, The Gap and Old Navy. (Please see the student handbook for the full uniform policy and dress code.)
 
Girls' Uniforms Grades K - 4 consist of the following:
  • A white or navy blue, short or long sleeve plain Polo shirt (no ties, ribbons, lacy/ruffled collars).  Peter pan blouse, button down collar, turtleneck or sweat shirts are all acceptable.
  • Plain straight leg khaki pants, khaki skirt or navy blue or khaki jumper.
  • Khaki cargo-pants, sweat pants and jeans are NOT acceptable.

    Girls' Uniforms Grades 5 – 8 consist of the following:
  • A white or navy blue long sleeve plain shirt (no ties, ribbons, lacy/ruffled collars).  Peter pan blouse, button down collar, turtleneck are all acceptable. Short sleeves are not acceptable.
  • A navy blue jumper that comes to at least mid-thigh.
  • Plain straight leg khaki pants or ankle length khaki shirt.
  • Khaki cargo-pants, sweat pants and jeans are NOT acceptable.

    All Girls:
  • Must have a have a plain white or Navy blue headscarf in their possession at all times.  Scarves of other colors with patterns are not acceptable. Headscarves must be worn during prayer and Quran reading/recitation.
  • Girls are required to purchase a minimum of 1 white and 1 navy blue headscarf from Al Fatih Academy (cost $5 for each scarf will be available for sale in September)
  • Girls will store their headscarf in a Ziploc bag labeled with their name at the bottom of their backpacks or in the classroom.

    Boys' Uniforms Grades K-8 consist of the following:
  • A white or navy blue, short or long sleeve plain Polo shirt, button down collar, turtleneck or sweat shirts are all acceptable.
  • Plain straight leg khaki pants.
  • Khaki cargo-pants, sweat pants and jeans are NOT acceptable.
  • Pants will not be excessively loose or tight.
  • Shirts will be hip length and long enough so as not to reveal the midriff during salat.

    All Boys and Girls Must Adhere to the following:
  • No logos, designs, or lettering should appear on any of the clothing. All clothing should be loose fitting.
  • All outerwear (sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts, etc.) will be plain navy blue or white.
  • No hats will be worn indoors.
  • Shoes should be sturdy enough for outdoor play.
  • Students must be in uniform during field trips unless otherwise instructed.
  • Students must maintain a modest appearance at all times, avoiding tight clothing and any revealing apparel.
  • A student who is not in acceptable uniform will be given a written notice. After 3 notices, parents will be called to pick up their child from school.
