Eman Kurtu

Ms. Eman Kurtu is the Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher at Al Fatih Academy. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Special Education K–12 Teaching Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University, and is currently working toward a Master’s in Education at VCU. She taught Special Education in the public school setting for 4.5 years before her role at AFA. She finds great joy in helping young learners grow, explore, and discover their strengths. She believes that teaching allows her to guide children through meaningful moments of curiosity, confidence, and accomplishment. She loves creating a classroom environment where students feel supported, capable, and excited to learn. Watching their progress and celebrating their successes, big and small, is one of the most rewarding parts of her work. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, trying new adventures, watching and playing sports, relaxing, and spending time with family.
