AFA’s intentional approach to Physical Education includes building mindfulness, focus and an appreciation for the body as an amana/trust from Allah (s).
- Students will be competent in demonstrating motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
- Students can explain the importance of fitness and active lifestyles and engage in a variety of physical activities to meet their personal goals both in school and outside of school.
- Students focus on learning skills and behaviors that lead to personal and group success in physical activity.
PE classes at AFA are structured towards improving the health and over all well-being of the student that includes physical, mental and social development. The class works on many levels of student well –being – core strength, muscular strength, flexibility, speed, cardiovascular endurance, balance, body coordination, agility and quick reflex; mental development in the sense of building confidence, focus, courage, awareness, calmness and inner determination; social development in the sense of interacting with fellow students, anger management, sharing and caring, sportsmanship and leadership skills; skills and understanding of some of the popular sports. Classes are well structured, exhilarating, stimulating and learning experience.
