Quran

The goal of the Quran program is to invite our students to apply the lessons within the Quran to their daily lives. Students at Al Fatih Academy are taught to memorize, recite, and understand the Quran. Students are provided daily opportunities to practice their recitation of Quran and are taught the meaning of the passages that they are reciting, as age-appropriate. Students works towards a weekly tilāwa (recitation) goal which would lead to students finishing the entire Quran within the academic year. Working from the 30th Juz of the Quran (Juz ‘Amma) backwards, students will also learn major surahs including Sūrat al-Rahmān, Sūrat Yāsīn, Sūrat Luqmān, and Sūrat Mulk. Additionally, students memorize short ahadīth (sayings of the Prophet) or du‘ā’ (supplications) as they relate to the school-wide monthly themes as well as their English classroom instruction.
